Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) has emerged as the most popular and sought after engineering discipline by students at the end of the first day counselling for admission of students to various B.Tech courses for the year 2011-12 at SASTRA University here on Monday.
Counselling will be held from June 20, Monday, to June 23, Thursday, for admission. On Monday, K. Vaidyanathan, Editor, Dinamani handed over the first admission letter to Bhakthakolahalan of Thirukovilur. He has secured 1,183 out of 1,200 in the Plus Two examination.
The Founder S. Ramachandra Iyer Scholarship was awarded to M. Suriyakumari of Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Nannilam in Tiruvarur district. She scored 1,135 out of 1,200. The scholarship is awarded in memory of the founder who hails from Tiruvarur district. The student will be provided free education throughout the course.
