Engineering counselling at Chennai only

Counselling will be held only at Anna University Campus in Chennai.

 

The entire counselling process would last for about 35 days. During DMK's regime, Anna University of Technology was inaugurated in Chennai, Madurai, Nellai, Kovai and Trichy.

 

But, now as the gear of power has changed, the government has decided to merge all those 5 centres with the Anna University, Chennai. But, the minister for higher education, Mr.Palaniappan parried all questions relating to it.

However, the fee waiver for first generation students would continue this academic year for which 64,410 applications have been received.

 

To favour the students with rural background, Tamil medium of instruction in Engineering colleges came into practice. This year, the Tamil medium of instruction in engineering courses would be expanded to more colleges. It has been decided to teach civil engineering course in Tamil at 11 colleges, mechanical engineering courses in Tamil at 12 colleges.
