The Kerala High Court ordered that all further proceedings for engineering admissions in the state for this year would be subject to final orders of the
court.
Justice P R Ramachandra Menon issued the order in this regard on a writ petition filed by an engineering aspirant's mother.
The petitioner, K Saheeda, challenged the decision to take into account the marks obtained in the qualifying test in addition to marks in common entrance exam (CEE) for admission to engineering courses.
According to the petitioner, prospectus published by CEE had inserted a new clause which was not in existence. The inclusion was "arbitrary" and "illegal" and the same had not been made applicable to other courses, she submitted.
