From this academic year, the Institute of Chemical Technology ( ICT) will conduct its own admission process. The institute was earlier a part of the university until it became a deemed university in 2008. But despite that its admission process was still conducted by the state's Directorate of Technical Education along with other autonomous institutes in the state such as VJTI.
Formerly called the University's Department of Chemical Technology, the prestigious institute offers courses in pharmacy and chemical engineering.
''We wanted to start our classes early and we get only 3,000 applications so the institute can process them. Also, our institute is unique and Those who want to study chemical technology will come here
So we decided to don't need to conduct coordinate the our admission process and not wait till for other colleges to beginwith other engineering colleges," said GD Yadav, director of the institute. The state entrance test (MH-CET) scores (70% seats) and All India Engineering Entrance Exam scores (30% seats) are the admission criteria for the institute. The undergraduate admission process begins with the sale of forms from June 6 and ends on July 5. Classes will commence on July 11
