More than 28,000 take entrance test for JIPMER

More than 28,000 candidates in centres all over the country today appeared for the entrance test conducted by JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research) for admission to its MBBS course starting in the 2011-2012 academic year.
 
JIPMER Dean Dr K S Reddy said that although about 39,000 candidates had registered for the examination held in eleven centres across the country, only 28,106 candidates sat for the test.
 
In Puducherry alone, against an expected strength of 5,473 candidates a total of 4,384 students appeared for the test, he said.
 
The results would be released in the next five to six days after evaluation of answer sheets, Dr Reddy said.
 
Besides Puducherry, other centres the examination took place include New Delhi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata and Vijayawada.
