Pvt medical colleges asked to admit students on merit basis

Uttarakhand government issued instructions to private medical colleges to admit students on the basis of the merit list prepared after the entrance test.

After a meeting chaired by Health Minister Balwant Singh Bhoryal, the government asked private medical colleges of the state to ensure that students are admitted on the basis of the merit list of the entrance test, said an official release here.

The private medical colleges have also been instructed not to charge fee more than what has been fixed for them.

Uttarakhand has two private medical colleges Himalayan Hospital at Jollygrant in Rishikesh and Mahant  Indresh Medical college in Dehra Dun.
