In all, 11 facilitation centres or helpdesks have been set up so far to offer free online registration facilities for applicants. In addition to the helpdesks that were established in Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvalla, others that commenced functioning are at the municipal complex at Vaikom, University Study Centre in Pala, panchayat building in Pallickathode (in Kottayam), panchayat building in Kattappana, Newman College in Thodupuzha, the university information centres in Adimaly, Ernakulam and North Paravur.
‘Drop boxes' to submit the hard copies of application forms have also been placed at all of the 10 facilitation centres. The centres will function from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Although the online CAP registration will close on June 3 at 5 p.m., hard copies of the applications can be submitted until June 6 at the 10 centres that have been designated for the purpose.
Inaugurating the helpdesk at Vaikom, university Registrar M.R. Unni expressed optimism that the centres would become popular among applicants and thereby, reduce last-minute rush at the university.
At the same time, the facilities would prove beneficial in terms of saving time and travel costs for applicants and guardians.
