MCD to implement poor quota in schools

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), following an order from the Delhi government, will implement the guidelines on 25 per cent reservation for students from economically weaker sections in primary public schools recognised by the civic body.

According to a statement, the government has asked the civic body to furnish a list of schools violating the guidelines.

This was decided at a review meeting attended by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely, Principal Secretary (Education) Rakesh Mohan and MCD Commissioner K S Mehra.
