Medical college fees in Maharashtra to go up by 120%

From the forth coming year medical education fees in the state run medical colleges is all set to go up from Rs 18,000 per year to Rs 40,000.

This is in accordance with the proposal by department of medical education (MED) that has been pending since 2004.

Apart from this, the government has also approved to set up three medical colleges at Deoghar in Raigad district, Nandurbar and Mumbai (GT Hospital), each with an intake capacity of 100 students.

Another feature of the proposal is to set up superspeciality centres at Aurangabad, Nagpur and Pune.
