GITAM University commenced admissions into its courses last week. To start with admission into MBA programme was taken up and all the 150 seats in its campuses here and in Hyderabad have been filled up. M. Suman Kumar and P.J. Bharadwaj, who are No. 1 and No. 2 in the rank list of the all-India online Admission tests (GITAM Admission Test-GAT) joined the programme.
Admissions into MHRM, MFC and MSc (management) courses was also conducted.
While issuing the admission cards to GAT top rankers Vice-Chancellor M. Gangadhara Rao said that the university is planning to strengthen its national and international linkages with the industry, academic institutions and the society, to become a global leader in management education.
GITAM University is also planning to provide laptops at a subsided cost to all PG students from this academic year.
Top rankers of GAT are receiving waiver of tuition fee for the first year and the benefit will continue depending on the marks they score during the course.
Pro Vice-Chancellor G. Subramanyam, Registrar P.M. Valli, Management Institute Principal K. Siva Rama Krishna and Admissions Director J.A. Chandulal participated in the admission counselLing.
Students from engineering background had shown much interest to join in MBA programme. Both Suman and Bharadwaj have studied B.Tech.
