University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata invites Application for admission to Master of Philosophy (MPhil) programmes in Bengali, Urdu, Ancient Indian History & Culture, Commerce, Sociology Sanskrit, Education, English, Pali, History, Women Studies, Political Science, Hindi, and Library & Information Science for the academic session 2017.
Aspirants need to apply through prescribed format latest by November 25.

Aspirants wish to apply need to have a degree in Master of Arts (MA)/Master of Science (MSc)/Master of Commerce (MCom) from a recognised university/institute with not less than 55 per cent in aggregate.
Aspirants who are taking MA/MSc/MCom/MLIS or equivalent Part - II examination and or final semester examination in the above mentioned subjects may also apply.

Selection procedure for University of Calcutta:
Aspirants will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test and interview/viva-voce conducted by the institute.
Aspirants who have qualified NET and or SET or any equivalent National Level Examination are exempted from the written test, but not from the interview/viva-voce.
