To get admissions in CIFNET - (CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES NAUTICAL AND ENGINEERING TRAINING

Wide opportunities are available for the graduates in National sciences. The central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training CIFNET offers the technical courses for Nautical Science.

CIFNET has its head quarters in Kochi. The campuses for CIFNET are there in Royapuram (Chennai). Visakapatnam (Andra Pradesh).

CIFNET offers course called BFSC (Nautical sciences).

BFSC is a 4 years course affiliated by shipping Department of Central Government of India.

The students should have taken Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology in XII. They should have taken a minimum of 50% in his SSLC or XII the candidates will be selected based on that XII marks, Entrance Examination and Interview.

The syllabus of the Entrance Examination will be based on XII in the subjects Maths, physics, chemistry and Biology in multiple choice patterns. Marks will be reduced for wrong responses. 20 seats are allotted for BFSC course. The candidates who have completed this course possess sufficiency experience in sea then without writing test they can appear interviews for. Make fishing vessel exams. The successful candidates in this exam will be awarded certificate of competency in male of fishing vessel.

The cost of application is Rs.500 for General candidates and Rs.250/- for SC/ST. the applications are available at the complexes at cochin and Chennai. The informations are available at www.cifnet.gov.in

The last date for applying is May 16, and the applications are to be submitted to Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET). Dewarns Road, Kochi-682016. The examinations will be conducted on June 7 at the centres at Kochi, Chennai and Visakhapatnam.

Interview will be held for the successful candidates on July 15. The classes will commerce from July 21. Government of India offers scholarship for SC,ST OBC candidates.

The qualified candidates have opportunities at Directorate of Fisheries and related state and central departments, opportunities are available in private enterprises also.
