Fish Culture is one of the important areas in developing the Economy of a country. The resource available in oceans is an aspect in calculating the wealth of a country. Since time immemorial, India is one of the countries in the world, and the reason being the long coastal area available naturally to our country.
At this juncture, as good as any other field, the fish culture attracts attention of the students.
Tamil Nadu Fish culture University has been in vibrant service having its apex body at Nagapattinam of Tamil Nadu. The courses in this field for UG, PG and Ph.D are offered in the Educational Institution under this university. The research studies include the areas Fish culture, its economy related areas, Fish Processing Technology, Fish Resource Management and other related areas. In the UG course B.Fsc, the subjects culturing Fish, Aqua Environmental Management, Fish-livestock, Technology, fish processing Technology are taught. Besides four year course are also offered under BFSC.
The minimum eligibility to apply for this course is a pass in XII std.

a minimum eligibility mark as 60%. A concession of 5 years is given for the candidates who belong to SC, ST as well as physically challenged. The students are admitted, based on XIIth marks and the marks scored in Entrance Examinations.. This implied, so percentage weightege is given to X Entrance Examinations and 20% weightege is given to XII Academic marks.
The syllabus of the Entrance Exams includes the inspiration towards the profession, reasoning besides English.
Human Resource Development of Government of India offers scholarship to all the SC, ST and OBC candidates, who are selected based on reservation policy. The 50% other candidates will be given scholarship in Merit and Economic status basis. This B.Sc, B.Ed is a study of Residential nature in the institution concerned.
