The Madras High Court directed the Secretary of the Selection Committee, MBBS/BDS, to prepare a revised counselling list and put it on the website immediately.

Disposing a writ petition filed by one Siddarth Manoj, a Backward class student, whose biology marks was revised to 198 out of 200, Justice S Manikumar said the petitioner had applied for revaluation as he was not satisfied with 197.25
(aggregate in biology, botany and zoology). During revaluation, his botany mark was reduced from 74 to 73 and his aggregate also got reduced.

The petitioner, who had his xerox copy of answer sheets, contended he should have been awarded full marks for two questions in the section (biology/zoology) and filed a writ petition.

The government pleader submitted the student was right in his claim and the examination department had awarded 198 marks out of 200 in biology.

The government pleader also said a compact disc had been already furnished by the Directorate of Examination, Chennai, to the Secretary Selection committee. On the basis of revised marks/upgraded marks, revision in the list of eligible candidates would be made and eligible candidates called for counselling, the pleader said.

The Judge recorded the submissions of the pleader and directed the petitioner to approach the Secretary, Selection Committee, and seek appropriate relief.
