Anna University initiates the initial phase of engineering admission process

Anna University has started its thoughtful work towards the smooth conduct of engineering admission for this academic year.

The Department of Government Examination's, Data Centre has already started the work of preparing the exam results for plus 2 students as the correction of answer papers is almost over. Therefore, the 8 lakhs odd Plus 2 students are eagerly expecting the plus two exam results.

Data entry for Mathematics, Science subjects and other core and non-core subjects is actively underway with over 75 computer operators involved in this process.

Though, every year, plus 2 results are released in the 2nd week of May, according to department sources, this year the results is likely to be released before May 10th. As a result, Anna University has initiated the initial phase of engineering admission process.

Anna university sources have already announced that the application forms will be issued from the last week of this month. Throughout the state, the application will be issued in government engineering colleges and government aided engineering colleges for which 2 lakh application forms are being printed.

For the students applying under special category, Anna University has issued various notifications.

In the total government allotment seats, 1 percent of seat would be allotted for sports quota and 3 percent for the children of freedom fighters and physically challenged (Deaf and Blind) students. Based on this allotment, 100 seats will be filled up under sports quota and 400 seats will be filled up under other special categories. Students applying under special categories should enclose the essential certificates with the application form.

According to this announcement, Anna University has published the application for special category on its website. Notification about various departments and the corresponding application forms are also published on the website. Students can directly download the application forms and apply.

To encourage first generation students, the government itself pays the education fee. Application form for this has been issued by Anna University. It has requested the students to approach the concerned government departments and get the appropriate certificates before the exam results are released.
