A total of 6673 seats are still vacant in various diploma courses across the state. The admission committee for diploma courses has decided to conduct a third round of admissions to fill these seats.
The seats that are vacant include 1225 seats in the government run polytechnics. The other vacant seats include 37 in polytechnics run government grants, 4428 in self finance institutes and 983 seats are those for which no student has opted.
Students will have to give their consent online for reshuffling on August 31 and September 1. The third round of admissions would start on September 5.
This is for the first time that the admission committee has to go in for the third round of admissions as the number of seats that lie vacant is very high. There were a total of 49,000 seats in the offing for which 56000 students had applied.
