The Indira Gandhi National Open Universitys (IGNOUs) invites applications for one-year online programme Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainability Science (PGDSS).
The last date for online admission is July 30, 2012 for July 2012 Session.
The major focus of the programme is on the evolution of Sustainability Science as emerging discipline. The three major pillars of Sustainable Development i.e. Environment, Social and Economic are elaborated in this one year course. The fourth pillar of Sustainable Development i.e. culture is highlighted and linked with the three other pillars and the cotemporary issues of Sustainable Development like lifestyle changes, environmental problems etc are also covered explicitly.
The course links the global issues to the local agenda and teaches the approaches in bringing sustainable livelihood in the developing countries with the focus on the major challenges to Sustainable Development. Student has to complete a project work to complete this course.
The Programme fee for this one year online P.G. Diploma in Sustainability Science is Rs. 6000. The student can pay admission fee either through online mode or Demand Draft (in favour of IGNOU). The details are available at www.ignouonline.ac.in/save or www.ignou.ac.in.
