Updated on: Thursday, June 07, 2012

The last date for submission of forms for admission to MBBS/ BDS courses came to an end on Wednesday.

Though applications sent by post are yet to be received, R. G. Sukumar, the secretary of the selection committee, estimated the number of forms submitted to be about 25,000.

The exact number of total number of submissions will be known on Thursday morning.

40,000 forms were sold for a total of 1,945 seats. The last date of sale of application forms was May 30.

According to Dr. Sukumar, though there was a considerable crowd of parents and students who had come to submit forms on Tuesday, the last day did not see much of a hustle.

When asked about the number of applications submitted on Wednesday alone, he said the number would be around 7000 forms.

The allocation of random numbers will be on June 15; the allocation of ranks will be June 25 and the first phase of counselling for students will be held on July 5.
