NIMS University Entrance Examination

NIMS University All India Combined Pre Medical/Dental Test is conducted for enrolling students to different courses in the fields of medicine and dental sciences. The entrance exam is conducted by National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) University, at all-India level. After acquiring the qualifying marks in the entrance test, candidates are eligible to pursue their career in medicine or dental surgery. Located in Rajasthan, NIMS University was incepted in 2008. It offers education in several streams. National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur and NIMS Dental College, Jaipur, are the constituent colleges of the university.

NIMS University is among the prominent universities in the state of Rajasthan. It conducts NIMS All India Combined Pre Medical/Dental Test for admission into MBBS and BDS program offered by the university. The test is not only confined for the candidates having Rajasthan domicile, but also it is open for the aspirants from the rest of the country.

NIMS University All India Combined Pre Medical/Dental Test is among the competitive entrance examination of its field. In order to appear in the entrance examination, the candidates have to fulfill the below listed eligibility criteria.

• The candidate must have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent Examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. In addition, he/she should have studied English as compulsory subject.
• Exemption of 10% is there for SC/ST candidates.
• Besides, the candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

NIMS University All India Combined Pre Medical/Dental Test is divided into three sections-

• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology (Botany and Zoology)

The entrance examination consists of 200 objective questions, out of which, 50 questions are from Physics and Chemistry section while 100 questions are from Biology (Botany and Zoology) section. All the questions consists multiple options. The candidates are required to mark the single correct answer for each question in separate OMR sheet. Negative marking is there for every wrong answer. Multiple answers indicated against a question will be considered as wrong. Duration of test is of two and half hours

The candidates (all over India), who desire to seek admission into undergraduate medical (MBBS) and dental (BDS) programs offered by the NIMS University have to undergo All India Combined Pre Medical/Dental Test, conducted by the university itself. Selection is determined by the candidate�s scores in the entrance examination.

Questions of NIMS University All India Combined Pre Medical/Dental Test are from Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects studied by the candidate at intermediate level of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Few of the topics are enlisted below-

Laws of Motion, Kinematics, Gravitation, Properties of Matter, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating currents, Atoms & Nuclei, Communication Systems, Optics, Work, Energy and Power, waves, and Electronic Devices.

Structure of Atom, Chemical Bonding, Bio molecules, Polymers, Chemical Kinetics, States of Matter: gases and liquids, Coordination Compounds, s-Block, p-Block, d and f Block Elements, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Environmental Chemistry, Electrochemistry and Organic compounds containing Nitrogen, etc.

Genetics and evolution, Structural Organisation in Animals and Plants, ecology, photosynthesis, Cell, Sexual Reproduction, circulation, Biotechnology and its applications, study of fungi, bacteria, etc.
