Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) Education Council

A constituent unit of National council of Educational research that maintains its status as an autonomous organization is known as Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET). This has got established under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The establishment of Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) took place in the year 1984 which was a result of a merger between department of technical aids as well as Centre of educational technology. The main aim of this organization is to promote educational technology. The emphasis would be made with respect to the mass media. The improvement of quality in education is another important objective of Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET).

The organization wishes to design and develop alternative learning system in the society. This will improve the primary education in the nation. Addressing various educational problems is also one of the major functions of Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET). The team of organizations visits meso, micro and macro levels to screen the problem effectively. Designing and producing media software materials in order to strengthen co- curricular activities in various school is a major contribution by Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET).
