Tripura Board of Secondary Education

The establishment of Tripura Board of Secondary Education took place in the year 1973. This was established under the act passed under Tripura Act number 12. This act was further named as Tripura Board of Secondary Education act 1973. The legislative assembly of Tripura has a major contribution in the establishment of this board. The function of this board was started from 1st of January 1976. The period between the time of its establishment and the time when the operation of the board has started has been dedicated for framing the rules and regulations of the board. Tripura Board of Secondary Education has set the syllabus as well as the guidelines so that the smooth and active conduct of business is carried on.

Various HS schools of Tripura have got their affiliation under the west Bengal board of secondary education before 1976. Thus the students who are studying in Tripura needed to give their final examination under the west Bengal board of secondary education. But after establishment of Tripura Board of Secondary Education in the year 1976, students got advantage. The board has conducted Madhyamik shiksha or secondary examination for all the students who are in class 10. The public exam was also been conducted by Tripura Board of Secondary Education. Students in 10 +2 stage will get an advantage to appear for the examination under their own state board. The new system of higher secondary was included in 1978 by Tripura Board of Secondary Education.

Major role was played by Tripura Board of Secondary Education in abolishing old rules and courses conducted in the organization. The previous public examination has been replaced by the two major public examinations by Tripura Board of Secondary Education. The board also conducts many vocational courses under it. The core curriculum of each standard has specifically been changed as and when the time passed on. The syllabus was adopted as per NCF 2000 guidelines. The syllabus as well as the guidelines was also been conducted under NCF 2005. In the year 2009, the board has introduced Madrassa Education.
