Women Education in Medieval India:
In olden era, there was a high discrimination between men and women education, which was only due to communal norms. In the Vedic period women had access to education, but steadily they had lost this right. In this period women´s had no independent existence, they had to live in the walls of the house, follow parda system, do all types of works and serve man folks. The religion and social customs were at their disadvantage. So there was a need to emancipate women from this tyranny.
The most important social and religious Indian reformers were Dayanand Saraswati and Raja Ram Mohan Roy who had fought for women rights.
Dayanand Saraswati, the great religious and social reformer from Gujarat, was perhaps the greatest figure to emancipate women from their shackles. He recommended equal rights for women. Raja Ram Mohan Roy was a reformer from Bengal. He carried vigorous propaganda against sati, polygamy & child marriages. With the arrival of british and advent of bhakti movement women education in india was revived.

Our present government is doing a lot of good work to bring the woman at par with man and it has taken certain measures to provide education to all Indian women. There are special facilities for women´s education. The women are offered equal jobs with equal pay. They are given all types of social and political rights.
