India Statistical Institute – Mumbai
Indian statistical institute is the unique Institute well known for research, teaching and application of statistics, natural sciences and social sciences. ISI has gained the status of an institution of National importance by an act of the Indian parliament in 1959. It is the most prestigious and oldest institution focused on statistics. Indian statistical Institute (ISI) was established on 17th December, 1931 by Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis in Presidency College, Kolkata.
Head quarter of ISI is located in northern fringe of the metropolis of Kolkata. Primary activity of Indian statistical Institute is research in statistics. Offices of the ISI are located in several other cities in India which are primarily engaged in projects and consultancy in Statistical Quality Control and Operations Research.

ISI Mumbai Selection procedure
Selection of aspirants is purely based on past academic record, performance in entrance tests and in interview. Information on admission procedure is uploaded on website and advertised in major news papers in February of each year. Indian statistical Institute entrance test is held in May, interviews are usually conducted in June and new session starts in late July.
